News for supplement or next Bullsheet.

http://www.abc.net.au/lateline/content/2010/s2808400.htm

Fantasy author Sir Terry Pratchett has given a speech calling for euthanasia to be legalised. He was diagnosed with a rare form of early-onset Alzheimer's disease in 2007.
More details on the above website. It appears that Terry is himself considering euthanasia when the condition of his altzheimers gets too bad for him to write.

Now it's in Ansible.
This might be a fair jumping off point in a 1930s era story ... "The Wire That Wouldn't Shut Up". Gradually more and more resources are sucked into the increasingly frequent cable, commerce and politics grind to a halt, power plants go into overload and start blowing ...
And the social scientists are behind it all ...
And the last two survivors are named Adam and Eve ...
And it's really a pact with the Devil story .. 'cos it's in Weird Tales ... Nyah nyah ...
